SALINAS – On April 7 two suspects confronted two other people, pulled out handguns and shot at both. The intended victims jumped over fences to escape and were uninjured.

The incident occurred in the 600 block of Towt Street. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the pair, and their getaway driver. Arrested were 25-year-old Mark Anthony Valenzuela, 19-year-old Miguel Angel Vargas Jimenez and 19-year-old Jimmy Aguirre.

Freedom for the three ended on May 21 as officers executed search warrants at three different residences.
