SAN LUIS OBISPO – Authorities arrested SLO murder suspect 36-year-old Robert William Koehler in Minnesota on May 16th.
Koehler killed 26-year-old Kristen Marti earlier this year. The victim disappeared on January 18th. Searchers discovered her body on March 25th.
The coroner then determined that Marti’s death was a homicide. The cause of death is being withheld during the ongoing investigation.
Investigators named Koehler as the last person with the victim. On April 18 the SLO DA’s office named Koehler as a person of interest.
The FBI and US Marshall’s Office assisted SLOSO and the SLO District Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
Koehler’s arrest occurred near Minneapolis and the process is underway to get him back to California. He faces a no-bail warrant and a murder charge.
