CHINO – A modern porch pirate should remember that more and more homes use surveillance systems in an effort to stop them.

19-year-old Ivanna Villasenor recently found this out after she stole items from local homes.

The investigation began on May 7 when a someone stole an item in the 8000 block of Gulfstream Street.

The victim caught a video of the suspect and posted it online. Someone saw the Facebook video and anonymously reported her identity to the CPD.

Police contacted Villasenor, who confessed and returned thr stolen property. Investigators linked her to at least ten incidents.   The porch pirate was charged with possession of stolen property.

The combination of social media and home security goes a long way to helping prevent porch thieves.

Lieutenant William Covington. “This is another great example of us working together with the community to solve crime and keep Chino safe.”
