OROVILLE – At noon last Wednesday a BCSO deputy spotted a vehicle code violation of a passing motorist and stopped him  in the 4800 block of Feather River Boulevard, leading to a drug arrest in Oroville.

47-year-old Oroville resident Michael Bennett was the passenger of the vehicle and had half of a pound of meth and $3,400.

The Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF) was called in to assist due to the large amount of narcotics recovered. Their further investigation, with the help of search warrants, led them to two storage lockers.

The lockers contained meth, marijuana, heroin and “the remnants of a butane honey oil lab.”

Bennett was jailed on charges of possession of meth for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing concentrated cannabis, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of heroin. His bail was set at $57,000.

The driver, however, was released and faces no charges.
