EL CENTRO – 18-year-old Bryce Mejia was recently arrested for altering an imitation firearm.

The suspect was driving near Austin and Ross Road and pointed the weapon at the head of a female passenger in his car.

This action was observed by a Sheriff’s investigator, who then saw the vehicle swerve and stopped Mejia.

The “weapon” was a toy firearm but it had been changed to look like a real one.  The ICSO said, ” it was later determined that his actions were intended to cause fear and concern to oncoming drivers in an attempt to be the next internet sensation.”
