Deputies also arrested Hensley’s companion Jennifer Jones, 46, of Coachella on a charge of possession of stolen copper wiring. Both suspects were booked at Riverside County Jail in Indio.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the pair were arrested in connection with an investigation of a series of thefts at La Quinta Park on Blackhawk Way and the La Quinta Sports & Youth Center in which electrical wiring was stolen from numerous light poles that light playing fields.

The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team launched an investigation that led to Hensley and Jones being arrested in the early morning hours of March 19 while sitting in a rental truck stripping stolen electrical wiring in the city of Thermal.
