TRUCKEE // What started out as an ordinary traffic stop ended in the arrest of a Vallejo man on several outstanding felony warrants, among other charges.

On March 14th, a Truckee PD officer stopped 33-year-old David Honsinger along eastbound I-80 near Overland Trail. A records check quickly revealed that Honsinger was on the hook for multiple outstanding felony warrants for assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, hit-and-run resulting in injury, and felony evasion.

The officer also searched Honsinger’s vehicle and discovered items commonly used to manufacture counterfeit money and government documents, as well as an imitation firearm and a high-capacity magazine for a handgun.

Honsinger was arrested on his outstanding warrants and faces a slew of new charges related to the items found in his car.
