On March 14th, a Truckee PD officer stopped 33-year-old David Honsinger along eastbound I-80 near Overland Trail. A records check quickly revealed that Honsinger was on the hook for multiple outstanding felony warrants for assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, hit-and-run resulting in injury, and felony evasion.

The officer also searched Honsinger’s vehicle and discovered items commonly used to manufacture counterfeit money and government documents, as well as an imitation firearm and a high-capacity magazine for a handgun.
