SAN BERNARDINO – When a 40-year-old San Bernardino resident recently faced eviction she contacted through the internet a man who presented himself as a lawyer.

The suspect received $500.00 from the victim and then gave her fraudulent court paperwork.  These documents also included the names of legitimate attorneys and a fake court insignia.

Once the fake documents were discovered, the civil proceedings halted.

Investigators then searched the residence of the perpetrator, 37-year-old George Humberto Lee, and discovered more fraudulent paperwork as well as the identities of other potential victims.

Lee was arrested and charged with forgery, identity theft and attempting to record a false instrument.
