POMONA – Pomona Police Department Homicide Detectives have announced the arrest of the suspect sought in the murder of Daniel Salcido (25) of Pomona. Christopher Kearney (34) of Inglewood was arrested and booked for murder. The charges were filed with the LA County District Attorney’s office, with bail set at $3 million.

The extensive month-long investigation began December 2, 2017 when the murder took place on the 2400 block of Manville. At approximately 11:20 PM, Pomona PD received multiple calls of a shooting.

Arriving officers came upon a male Hispanic victim who had been shot several times and was lying in the middle of the street. Life-saving measures were unsuccessfully attempted by officers and the LA County Fire Department.  Salcido was pronounced deceased at the scene.

During the service of that warrant, Detectives were able to arrest suspect Christopher Kearney, who was present during the search warrant. Evidence related to the murder was also recovered.”

Christopher Kearney is currently in the Pomona City Jail. If convicted of 187 PC-Murder, Kearney faces a potential 70+ years to life in prison.
