Parents Arrested for Cruelty to 2-month-old

HIGHLAND — A young father and mother brought their 2-month-old son to Loma Linda University Medical Center because the child had a partially severed ear that required stitches.

Further examination by pediatricians revealed that the victim also had “multiple rib fractures in different stages of healing.” They also discovered a skull fracture and other injuries

The father, 30-year-old Robert Martin Bellett III and the mother, 28-year-old Annelese Rose Ortega, were arrested and charged with willful cruelty to a child and inflicting great bodily injury to a child under 5 years old.

Their bail was set at $250,000 each.
