SLO Sheriff investigating attempted kidnapping in Templeton

TEMPLETON // The SLO County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for the suspect in an alleged attempted kidnapping on January 20th.

At around 12:30 PM, deputies received word from the concerned family of a 9-year-old girl. She told her parents she’d been playing at the playground of a mobile home park on the 1200 block of Bennett Way when a man tried to grab her. Fortunately, she managed to break free and run home.

The victim described the man as a Hispanic male of unknown age who stood approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build, black hair, and a black beard.

Responding deputies were unable to locate anyone matching the description and, as of yet, no witnesses have been identified. As the investigation continues, anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 805-781-4500.
