12 members of SJ gang arrested for over 30 violent robberies, carjackings

SAN JOSE –  San Jose Police Officer Gina Tepoorten announced the arrest of multiple gang members, saying,“More than 50 San Jose Police officers conducted a large-scale operation last week targeting a violent criminal gang responsible for a series of robberies, carjackings, burglaries, and a shooting.”

12 gang members (seven adults and five juveniles) responsible for more than 30 robberies that included numerous carjackings in beginning in the early months of summer were arrested during the joint operation.

During the search of eight residences, authorities seized seven firearms, one stolen vehicle, $2,000, ammunition, replica firearms, a stun gun, pepper spray, knives and other stolen property including laptops, tablets, keys and key fobs from stolen vehicles.

“Subsequently, the adults were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail and the juveniles were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on multiple charges, including; robbery, carjacking, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, child endangerment, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of stolen property, possession of drugs, and gang enhancement,” Tepoorten said.
