PRUNEDALE // Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Prunedale man for firing a stolen gun from his vehicle on Prunedale South Road.

On January 1st, deputies began searching for a white Chevy after reports that a man had fired a gun from the vehicle. It wasn’t long before responding units located a vehicle matching descriptions provided and three occupants therein, as well as a “stolen handgun, spent shell casings, and a box of ammo.”

Another shell casing matching the ones in the truck was found on the road.

The truck’s driver — identified as Miguel Ruiz — was arrested for shooting at an inhabited dwelling, probation violation, and possession of a stolen loaded handgun, and booked at the Monterey County Jail.

The other two vehicle occupants were released at the scene.
