LODI // On December 19th just after 12 AM, officers arrived at a residence on the 00 block of South Ham Lane, following up on a report of a suspicious person peeking into the home.

The resident had been monitoring the home remotely via the Ring Doorbell app, which allowed him to see what was going on.

Responding officers also discovered a man standing out front. When he was detained, a woman opened the front door to the house, saw officers, and immediately closed it. She tried fleeing on foot through the backyard and was found hiding a block away.

After the two were detained, officers checked the house and found a large amount of the victim’s belongings piled up near the front door.

The duo — identified as 28-year-old Christopher Hobron and 39-year-old Aimee Cardoza, both of Stockton — have been arrested for buglary and outstanding warrants. They are currently housed at the Lodi City Jail.
