WEAVERVILLE // On the evening of November 1st, Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies began an investigation into a stabbing near a business downtown.

A suspect was identified — Charles Lambertsen — and was soon arrested after being accidentally stricken by a car. He was treated at a local hospital and then booked into Trinity County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and “maliciously [obstructing] the use of a wireless device, when device is being used to summon the assistance of law enforcement.”

Investigation into the chain of events revealed that Lambertsen had become “unruly” at a business downtown, and that the stabbing victim had been attempting to render aide to the business employees at the time of the attack.

While unconfirmed, deputies believe Lambertsen may have been under the influence of narcotics.
