Murder in La Mesa

LA MESA — Last Thursday evening in the parking lot of the Burlington Coat Factory at 7938 El Cajon Boulevard, an altercation occurred in which a gunshot was fired.  A witness reported that a male victim fell to the ground and two suspects, a male and a female, fled the scene.

LMPD officers arrived and indeed found 30-year-old Travis Lewis suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim died at the scene.

The investigation revealed that Lewis was shot during a robbery.

Five days later detectives arrested 24-year-old Kathryn Williams and 32-year-old Teishia Miller-Johnson on the charge of murder.

That evening, they also arrested 30-year-old Derrick Henderson for murder in the same incident.  Police believe Henderson was the shooter.
