SAN FRANCISCO — On the afternoon of June 27th, a man arrived at Bayview Station to report that he’d been the victim of a sexual assault.

San Francisco PD’s Special Victims Unit investigators began an inquiry, during which they learned of a second victim who’d allegedly been assaulted by the same person. The suspect, police say, is an acquaintance of both victims.

That night, investigators identified and arrested 36-year-old Marvin Sotorizo of San Francisco at 25th and Potrero.

According to a press release by San Francisco PD, Sotorizo volunteers for a church youth program in the Mission District.

The department emphasizes that while an arrest has been made, anyone who may have information relevant to the case is still encouraged to contact the SVU directly at 415-553-9225.
