FRESNO — Early on Saturday morning, the FPD was called to 2148 S. Lily on a report of a stabbing. Once there, they discovered 21-year-old Rocio Gomez suffering from stab wounds. In spite of first aid at the scene and a subsequent transport to the hospital, the victim died from her wounds.

Officers quickly learned that Rocio’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Victor Alberto Dominguez-Gomez, committed the crime and had fled the scene.
The suspect was tracked down to his residence at 420 W. Hawes Avenue. He had injured himself with a cut to his neck. His injury did not prove to be fatal and he is recovering at Community Regional Medical Center.
When he is released from the hospital, Dominguez-Gomez will be booked for murder.
