18-Year-Old Arrested for Shooting, Assault

Julian Josue Pacheco

FOWLER — It began as a dispute over alleged stolen property. It ended in a pistol whipping, a shooting, and an arrest.

A 911 call came in on Tuesday morning from the 400 block of 4th Street.  Arriving officers discovered a 21-year-old woman who had been shot and a 17-year-old woman who had been pistol whipped.

The victims knew the suspect, 18-year-old Julian Josue Pacheco.  He had come accompanied with another man to their residence that morning to confront the victims about stolen property.

The women were taken to the hospital and then released.  The men fled.

That night, after Pacheco’s family members attempted to get him to turn himself in (under the FSO’s direction), he came to his home in the 1500 block of Ruby Avenue and was promptly arrested.

Pacheco was charged with attempted murder and assault with a firearm. His bail was set at $535,000.
