Road Rage Leads to Arrest in Los Banos

LOS BANOS — On May 23rd at around 1:30 PM, police received an alert from the California Highway Patrol concerning a road rage incident involving a firearm.

The reporting party said he was travelling westbound on SR-152 east of Los Banos when a light green Subaru began tailing him and the occupants gave him the finger. A female passenger also allegedly pointed a shotgun and threw a beverage can at his vehicle.

An officer noticed the antagonists’ vehicle as it passed through Los Banos and conducted a stop in the Burger King parking lot. 23-year-old Alfredo Lopez of La Grange and his passenger, 22-year-old Morgan Silva of Chowchilla, were immediately belligerent but were soon handcuffed and formally detained.

Officers found an unloaded shotgun and ammunition in their vehicle.

Both are now in custody on $56,500 bail each on charges of “assault against a person with a firearm, conspiracy to commit a crime, and resisting or delaying a peace officer.”
