Husband Convicted in Wife’s Stabbing

Kam Hing Wong

MONTEREY PARK — On March 31st, 2016, 64-year-old Kam Hing Wong entered the bathroom of his home and proceeded to stab his wife as she was in the shower.  His weapon of choice was a pair of scissors.

The victim resisted but Wong continued his attack, using a meat cleaver and a knife as his wife ran through the home.

She then ran outside naked where someone saw her and called police.  She had been “slashed and stabbed” 32 times, but survived.

On Tuesday Wong was convicted of pre-meditated, deliberate, and willful attempted murder. In addition, there was a special allegation that he “personally used deadly and dangerous weapons during the commission of the crime.”

Wong will be sentenced on June 8 and faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in prison.
