WOODLAND — On April 27th just after 10:30 PM, officers arrived at the area Donnelly Circle and Lemen Avenue after several reports of gunshots.

There they spoke with a witness who directed them to the scene of a shooting, where spent shell casings and blood were discovered in the ground.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Jose Jimenez Pineda arrived at Woodland Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body — quickly determined not to be life-threatening.

While initially giving conflicting accounts, Pineda eventually told investigators he’d been struck by gunfire while in the Donnelly Circle area and was driven to the hospital by an acquaintence. He did not provide a suspect description.

Anyone who believes they may have knowledge related to the incident is encouraged to contact Woodland PD at (530) 661 – 7800.
