Two Arrested for Narcotics After Traffic Stop

COLUSA COUNTY — On April 8th just after 12 AM, a CHP officer conducted a vehicle stop on two individuals in a black 2014 Nissan Maxima.

The pair — identified as 30-year-old Oscar Madera Graciano of Gerber and 31-year-old Jose Manual Rico of Corning — were stopped for a vehicle code violation relating to unsafe turning.

As it turned out, Graciano was also driving on a suspended license.

The vehicle was slated to be towed and the officer was about to give the two a ride back to Williams. The night hit another snag when the two tried to sneak a bag containing narcotics with them into the patrol car.

The bag was searched and nearly 3 pounds of meth were discovered. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the pair claimed not to know anything about it.

Graciano and Rico were arrested on numerous narcotic-related charges and booked into the Colusa County Jail.
