On April 2nd just before 11 AM, deputies arrived at the Sand Slough area (also known as “Spider Island”) after being notified of a stabbing victim.

There they found a lone male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Subsequent investigations identified 19-year-old Jesse Jacobo as the primary suspect.

Jacobo was soon contacted and interviewed, during which he said the two had gotten into an argument over property Jacobo believed the victim had stolen from him. Unfortunately, the argument escalated to the point of violence.

Jacobo was arrested without incident and is housed at the Tehama County Jail on a charge of homicide. His bail has been set to $1,000,000.

The victim’s identity has yet to be released pending an autopsy and notification of family.
