FRESNO – On Monday afternoon near Tulare and First, a Ford E250 van had been stolen. The victim “tracked” the van as it traveled south on 99 and contacted FPD.
Soon, CHP tried to initiate a traffic stop on the van but its driver failed to comply. Police pursued the fleeing van into Visalia, where its two occupants then got out and attempted to flee.
A CHP helicopter assisted in the pursuit and eventual arrest. 29-year-old Jose Ramires and 19-year-old Fatima Delacruz were arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Ramires was additionally charged with felony evading, resisting arrest possession of burglary tools, and a parole violation.
