Madera Vandal Caught Wearing Stolen Shoes

MADERA — Local man David Cruz is behind bars after an incident an incident on March 4th.

An officer responded to a vandalism report on the 400 block of South Gateway Drive, wherein an individual had used a rock to break two glass doors at two different businesses.

Police checked surveillance footage of the area and took note of the suspect, identified as David Cruz. At some point during the day, Cruz had also stolen a pair of shoes and left his old ones behind.

He was later spotted on the 2000 block of West Cleveland, wearing the stolen shoes.

He was stopped, arrested, and booked for vandalism, possession of stolen property, and probation violation.
