2 Grocery Murder Suspects Arrested, 2 More Suspects Sought

ANTIOCH – Two men are in custody on murder charges, and two more suspects are being sought by police, for a murder that occurred last week behind a local grocery store.

The victim, 20-year-old Joseph West, was shot on February 22, near 300 Atlantic Avenue and Harbor Street in Pittsburg.

Police searched a home on the 2900 block of Hudson Court and arrested Christova Topete, 24, on February 28. Topete, who’s charged with murder and parole violation, is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility. His bail was set at $1 million.

Justin Hood, 22, also of Antioch, was arrested in a parking lot in the 300 block of Atlantic Avenue; he’s charged as an accessory to murder.

Police identified a third suspect as Sam Nazareta, 30, of Pittsburg, and have a warrant for his arrest. A fourth suspect seen on a video surveillance camera has yet to be identified by police.
