CORNING — On February 25th at around 3:30 AM, Tehama County Deputies arrived at an empty apartment complex on Sacramento Road after reports of trespassing.

It was there that they met with 33-year-old Michael Anthony Rogers Jr., who was suspected of possessing stolen items and happened to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Glenn County. He was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail.

Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of more items stolen from a nearby residence, which the owners were not yet aware were stolen. Items recovered included a Kubota brand utility vehicle and a chainsaw that were later positively identified by the owner.

Police also identified a second suspect, 45-year-old Jon Paul Lareau, as having been an accomplice and took him into custody as well.
