Medical Assistant Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault

UNION CITY – A medical assistant was arrested last Friday morning on a warrant by Union City police for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman during her appointment at a local Kaiser Permanente medical office.

Hayward resident Efrain Castanon, 47, was arrested on February 10th without incident by Union City police, after a judge issued a $250,000 arrest warrant. The suspect is charged with sexual assault.

The victim notified police and provided credible evidence leading police to investigate her accusation that she was sexually assaulted on January 25. Police said Kaiser Permanente was extremely cooperative with their investigation.
