Man Shot in Front of His House, Murder Suspect in Custody

CONCORD – A suspect was arrested 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, less than three hours after a man was shot in front of his house on the 3000 block of Wren Avenue.

The victim died later at a nearby hospital.

Police responded to reports of a shooting on Feb. 7 at approximately 10 p.m., where upon arrival a man was found lying in the street. The gun believed used in the shooting death was recovered by police.

The suspect, 23-year-old Guido Ginochio of Concord, is charged with murder, carrying a loaded firearm in public, illegally discharging a firearm with negligence, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied car.

Ginochio is in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility on $1,350,000 bond.
