Shotgun Standoff in Hoopa

On February 6th at around 11 AM, a Hoopa Tribal officer arrived on Little Moon Lane after reports of a woman screaming.

It was there that the offer discovered a woman on the porch or a residence wielding a rifle. She pointed it toward him, at which point he retreated a safe distance and requested the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

County Sheriff’s deputies and CHP responded and secured a perimeter. The 22-year-old woman eventually left the residence after some assistance from a family member and is currently being held on a mental health evaluation.
