Man Connected to November Stabbing Arrested

The Stabbing Suspect, Steven Rodriguez

On November 19th, authorities received numerous reports of a stabbing that occurred at the Shadow Lounge on Oakdale Road.

When deputies arrived, two victims had been stabbed and were instantly transported to a local hospital. One of the victims, identified as Fadi Salman, 35, passed away from the severity of his stabbings. He was reportedly stabbed in the chest, abdomen and back. The other victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries and was later released from the hospital.

According to the report, there was an altercation in the bar, where a group of men were harassing people, apparently looking for a fight.

Detectives believe that an argument had occurred between the men and Salman, along with his cousins. Then the argument seemed to have escalated outside of the bar, where the stabbing occurred. The two cousins were identified as Amir Jamal, 27, and Omar Allatry, 24, who were also involved in the assault. Jamal was the victim with the non life-threatening stab wounds. Allatry was reportedly beaten badly, with a welt on his back from a back or a stick, according to family.

The stabbing suspect was unknown until Thursday, December 22, when deputies found a lead and arrested 24-year-old Steven Rodriguez.

Rodriguez has been charged with murder and attempted murder. There has been no report of any additional suspects.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Modesto Police Department Detective Pouv at 209-572-9826.
