SANTA CLARA COUNTY — The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of six individuals found to have stolen multiple gifts and packages worth thousands of dollars from residences located in Cupertino and Saratoga.

According to Sergeant Rich Glennon, “James Maybin of Boulder Creek, age 34, was arrested after fleeing in a stolen vehicle in Cupertino.”  During an investigation into the stolen car, Maybin and a known accomplice were identified as having broken into a local Cupertino UPS storage facility.

The duo stole shipping packages from the store before they were to be delivered to local residences.  The stolen vehicle was found to be completely full of the stolen packages. Glennon said, ”The Sheriff’s Office was able to quickly return the packages back to UPS so the packages could be delivered in a timely manner for the holidays.”

A second suspect wanted for package theft out of Saratoga was identified as 21-year-old Jordan Del Campo of San Jose.  Del Campo was located in Saratoga and arrested for package theft. Items found in his possession included tickets for a Disney Christmas vacation, DVDs of children’s films, and diamond earrings.

A third and fourth suspect, 44-year-old Ronald Martinez and 43-year-old Dolores Mestaz of San Jose, were arrested for package theft. According to Glennon, “A residential security camera caught their Cupertino theft.” Santa Clara County Deputies were able to identify the two suspect by reading the license plate of their vehicle from nearby security footage.

During the arrest of the couple, Santa Clara County Deputies were able to recover a total of ten packages containing children’s books and children’s clothing.  It is suspected that the pair may also have been in other areas collecting stolen packages without the residence being aware of the theft.  Investigation into the theft is ongoing.
