SANTA ANA – It was in “broad daylight,” as they say. With apparently little desire to hide from his actions, 57-year-old Joe Fugencio Mirabel was spotted on Tuesday morning spraying gang graffiti on the side of a building.

Someone saw it happening, recorded it on their phone, and called police.
Although Mirabel fled before police arrived, they received a call shortly thereafter about the same man allegedly spray painting an entire block’s wall on the 200 block of South Franklin.
This time, police were able to arrive before Mirabel successfully fled, although he tried to run. He was arrested and booked for felony vandalism.
