SALINAS — Police are looking for 21-year-old Finees Ruiz of Prunedale, who is wanted in connection to the stabbing of a 19-year-old man on Monday night at the Ross Parking Lot (1520 North Main).

At around 9:30 PM that night, the victim was sitting in his parked car at the Ross department store when Ruiz approached and stabbed him several times in the upper body. The victim was able to fight him off, at which point he fled before officers could arrive. The victim was taken to an area hospital and treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Apparently, the stabbing was over an ex-girlfriend of Ruiz.

At the time of the attack, Ruiz was wearing dark clothes and is described as a Hispanic male adult, about 6 feet tall and 180 lbs, with a thin build. The knife used in the attack was recovered at the scene, but he may have others.

He is possibly driving a beige 4-door 2000 Honda Accord, CA license plate number 4K2A632. Anyone who may have information on Ruiz or his whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact the Salinas Police Department at 831-758-7321.
