Parlier Auto Thief Busted

Jason Paul Simons

PARLIER – Early last Tuesday morning, Officer Silva of the Parlier Police spotted a red Honda travelling at a high rate of speed and driving through stop signs.

As the officer began pursuit, the Honda accelerated to over 100 mph. A Fresno officer joined the pursuit and soon the fleeing vehicle experienced mechanical difficulties and came to a stop.

As it turned out, the car had been stolen — so recently, in fact, that it hadn’t even been reported yet. Its driver, 32-year-old Selma resident Jason Paul Simons, was promptly arrested.

In addition to the auto theft charges, Simons had meth in his possession and also had a misdemeanor warrant for burglary and possession of stolen goods.
