Confiscated guns and drugs at Martinez’ home

DELANO – An evening traffic stop on Wednesday opened the door to a seizure of guns and drugs by deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Gang Unit.

22-year-old Francisco Martinez was driving his vehicle in the 900 block of Cecil Avenue when authorities pulled him over. He was then transported to the 1700 block of Kensington Street and, armed with a warrant, officers entered his residence to conduct a search.

Inside, they discovered an SKS assault rifle with an attached bayonet, an AR-15, a 12-gauge shotgun, and 48 grams of cocaine.

28-year-old Eduardo Martinez was also in the house and found to be complicit as well. Both men were arrested on charges which included possession of cocaine, possession of ammunition by a felon, possession of an assault weapon, and participating in a criminal street gang.
