Man Robbed, Assaulted While Walking Home

WATSONVILLE — Police are still looking for two young men who reportedly stole a man’s wallet near Watsonville High School on Saturday evening. Both were described as being Hispanic, male, and in their teens — one tall and thin, one short and stocky. They were last seen heading southbound on Lincoln Street.

The victim, a Watsonville local, was walking home near the high school after being dropped off by a friend. While walking, the two suspects approached him, one holding a knife, and demanded his wallet. The armed suspect then stabbed the victim in the forearm without warning, before the two made off with the wallet.

Police were called and responded to the area of 250 East Beach Street, the location of the high school, and found the victim waiting for them on Lincoln Street. Medical personnel were called to the scene and treated the victim for the injury to his arm, but later transported him to Watsonville Community Hospital for additional treatment.

Police are still on the hunt for the two suspect. Anyone with information that may lead to their arrest is strongly encouraged to contact police investigators at 831-768-3350.
