Motorists on High Alert After Recent Shootings at Passing Cars

SAN JOSE — Police are seeking an unidentified armed assailant responsible for four known recent vehicle shootings.  The shootings began on May 4, 2016 when an unidentified suspect fired a single round at a moving vehicle located near the intersections of Blossom Hill Road, Poughkeepsie Road and Monterey Road in South San Jose just moments after midnight.

The motive behind the shootings is not known. However, the shootings are centered around the same time period and the same vicinity. Police believe that the shooter is a known resident in the area, not far from where the shootings occurred.

Three more incidents in the area where reported on June 2, 2016 at 12:50 AM, June 30, 2016 at 12:35, and July 2, 2016 again occurring at 12:30 AM, in which a single round was fired at each vehicle causing minor damage and distress to the driver.

According to San Jose Police Officer Albert Morales, “Each victim driver was traveling on Blossom Hill Road when their vehicles were struck by a single round.”

The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information regarding identifying the possible suspect(s) responsible for any of these shootings.
