Hollister Police Arrest One, Seek Two More in Burglary Spree

HOLLISTER — Police have made an arrest in connection to a string of burglaries that has been plaguing the city for several weeks. 40-year-old Enrique Zendejas is now in custody, and police are still seeking 46-year-old Daniel Ortega and 28-year-old Jessica Drewery, whom they believe are still in the area.

On May 4, officers of Hollister PD, along with agents from the Unified Narcotic Enforcement Team (UNET), San Benito County deputies, and the San Benito County Probation Department, executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Buena Vista Road.

Among the missing items police were looking for, there were approximately $40,000 in power tools, $700 in furniture, and $4,000 in stereo equipment. They were also looking for multiple firearms, including high-powered rifles.

Many of the items, which were reported stolen in recent burglaries from storage facilities in Hollister, were recovered. On May 6, police arrested Zendejas for commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and probation violation. He has been booked into San Benito County Jail.

Further investigation revealed that Jessica Drewery and Daniel Ortega, both of Hollister, were also connected to the burglaries.
