SACRAMENTO — Sacramento County Sheriffs arrested a Sacramento man on Sunday, May 8, 2016 in connection with a 25-year-old man who was found fatally shot in his car the day before in Fair Oaks.

A Fair Oaks resident called 911 at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday to report two cars that were driving recklessly and chasing each other on the 10500 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard and that they also heard a loud bang.

When officers arrived, they found the victim—whose identity has not yet been released—suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.  He was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

One of the suspects, Kane Am Thompson, 24, of North Highlands, was arrested in Vallejo on a murder charge the next day. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Tuesday, May 10.

A second suspect, who has been described as a 5 foot 11 inch tall man in his late 20s or early 30s with short hair, is still at large.

Sheriff’s detectives have determined that the homicide is the result of a drug transaction gone wrong.
