Shooting Suspects Snared

The Paso Robles Police department arrested two men for their alleged involvement in an April 3 shooting in town.

According to PRPD, the shooting took place n the 600 block of Nicklaus Street. Both men were transported and booked at San Luis Obispo County jail.

The first shooting suspect is Alejandro Mora, 19, a resident of rural Paso Robles. Mora was charged with felony robbery, felony conspiracy and a misdemeanor of destruction of evidence.

The second shooting suspect is Fernando Maduena, 21, of Paso Robles. Maduena was charged with three felony counts of assault with deadly weapon, a firearm, a felony count of discharging a firearm in grossly negligent manner, and a felony count of possession of controlled substance for sales.

According to PRPD investigators, they used information obtained from the public that led the detectives to the silver Toyota Tacoma truck that was seen leaving the scene of the shooting. From there investigators were able to identify the persons involved in the incident.

Detectives have determined this incident occurred as a result of a narcotics transaction that went bad and was not gang-related.
