Auburn Couple Arrested for Stabbing

A couple was arrested late Thursday, April 7th for a stabbing that occurred in North Auburn.

According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, a man was stabbed Thursday evening at the intersection of Highway 49 and Bell Road in the Rock Creek Plaza. Deputies were dispatched about 6:40 in the evening. When they arrived on scene, they found a male victim with multiple stab wounds. The 24-year-old from Auburn was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for serious stab wounds.

Detectives who also responded to the incident quickly identified the suspects.

Two suspects were located and taken into custody without incident. Arrested were 27-year-old Anthony Manual Najera and 29-year-old Cora Lee Najera both of Auburn. The vehicle they were driving was also seized for evidence.

The male suspect was charged with attempted murder, and Cora Najera was taken into custody for charges related to the incident along with a parole violation. Both suspects were booked into Placer County Jail in Auburn. As of Friday evening, both are being held without bail.
