Teenagers Arrested for Home Invasion

SALINAS — Police have arrested two teenagers in connection to a home invasion and burglary in the 18000 block of Lohman on Monday.

That night, at around 7:49 PM, a teenager was home alone when he heard a noise coming from downstairs. Upon investigation, he discovered two men attempting to break in.

Opting not to confront them for fear of his own safety, the victim hid under a bed and called his family, who then called police.

Family members who lived nearby reached the home before police and chased the suspects away.

A responding Salinas officer was shortly able to capture one of the suspects about two blocks away. Captured, no less, with items from the home still in his possession.

The other suspect was spotted on a nearby street and promptly taken into custody.

Both suspects were minors, ages 16 and 17 respectively, and were transported to the police department for booking. Both were issued citations for burglary and released to their parents pending a court date.

The stolen property from the burglary has since been recovered and returned.
