Husband of Murdered Fresno Woman Sought, Arrested (UPDATE)

Chinnawatt Vue

FRESNO – Police are looking for the husband of a 21-year-old woman who was killed in her home in east-central Fresno.

The Fresno Police Department has identified 23-year-old  Chinnawat Vue as a suspect in his wife’s homicide.

Officers responded to a call at 8 a.m. that a shooting had taken place on Tuesday at East Norwich and North Whitney avenues. Inside one of the homes in the neighborhood, officers found a dead female victim with head injuries and tried to determine if she had been shot, police said.

Vue allegedly notified relatives, who live nearby, that he had killed his wife. Police said he told the relatives that he had slit his throat and then sent a photo to the relatives that appeared to show he was injured.

Vue, who does not have a criminal past, fled the scene and is believed to be armed and dangerous. Officers are searching for him in the city and have asked the Fresno County Sheriff’s office to search the Avocado Lake near Sanger, because Vue is known to visit the area.

UPDATE: Chinnawatt Vue has been arrested by the U.S. Forest Service near Hume Lake.
