THOUSAND PALMS — Authorities searched three homes in conjunction with a gang related crime and arrested one.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, members of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT Team, served three search warrants in the 30-200 block of Las Flores Way, 30-700 block of Monte Vista Way, and 31-200 block of Robert Road. All the properties were located in the unincorporated community of Thousand Palms.

According to a press release from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, the search warrants were part of an investigation involving an assault with a deadly weapon incident that occurred on February 14 in Thousand Palms.

According to the charges, Aquirre is suspected of being gang member and charged with being in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and possession of stolen property.

The Sheriff’s Department requests that if the community has any information about this crime, that they contact Deputy Chacon at (760) 345-3790. Non-emergency information regarding gang activity can be reported online using the Gang Task Force Tip Form or by calling 951-922-7601.
