SANTEE – Police arrested a gymnastics coach on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student.
San Diego police arrested Patrick Wehrung, 25, of Santee on February 9. He was charged with unlawful sexual assault, oral copulation, and penetration with a foreign object.
The identity of the minor, who attended Champion Gymnastics and Cheer in Santee were Wehrung taught, was not released. Wehrung’s bail was set at $50,000 and his court date is scheduled for Feb. 18.
Police said the female juvenile victim told detectives that Wehrung picked her up at her residence and took her to La Jolla Shores on several occasions and that the two had been involved in a sexual relationship over the last several months
