Oildale Father Arrested for Killing his Daughter

This sad incident occurred here

OILDALE — A 27-year-old Oildale man who was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly beating to death his two-year-old daughter over the weekend, was arraigned in Kern County Superior Court on Wednesday.

Izaac Sanchez, pled not guilty to one charge of murder and one charge of assaulting a child under eight years resulting in comatose or paralysis.

Sanchez is being held on $2,000,000 bail.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a child not breathing at around 7 p.m. on February 7, at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Harding Avenue in Oildale.

“The child was taken to a local area hospital suffering from suspicious injuries,” said Public Information Officer Ray Pruitt.
An investigation was started, and detectives soon developed enough probable cause to arrest Sanchez for felony child endangerment and felony assault on a child under eight years old.

“While in custody, the child unfortunately succumbed to her injuries on February 9,” Pruitt added, “allowing the father to be charged with her murder.”

The remaining children in the home were taken into protective custody pending further investigation. The Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim and the cause and manner of death at a later time.
