HIGHLAND – Two suspects in the murder of a San Bernardino man were arrested on Saturday, one day after a crime spree took place.

On Monday, police identified the two suspects as Desmond Keyontre Stevenson, 25, and Robert Almond Green, 23. Both were arrested on Sunday.

Miteshkumar Patel, 36, was fatally shot when two men robbed his drive-thru dairy, Bossey Drive-In at 1611 North E. Street, shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday.

One day later, police identified the getaway car after first learning they attempted to rob Bliss Liquor Store just minutes after committing the crime at Bossey Dairy.

They detained one of the suspects in neighboring Highland, later discovering the second suspect’s whereabouts, recovering a shotgun, masks and clothing reportedly worn during the murder. Patel was pronounced dead after police showed up to the emergency call.

According to reports, two masked men entered the dairy, attempting to rob it. Both suspects had guns, one carrying a rifle and the other with a handgun in a crime that was caught on a store surveillance system.

During the robbery, Patel was struck in the chest with a single shot, according to reports, which killed him almost immediately. The men fled northeast of the crime scene, escaping through an alley, said reports.

“A customer apparently witnessed the robbery,” according to reports, “and the owner’s relative emerged from the restroom during the robbery, causing confusion.”

One suspect wore a red bandana over his face and the other apparently wore a hockey mask, said reports. Green was arrested near the intersection of Baseline Street and Tippecanoe Avenue.

Stevenson was taken into custody at his apartment, 2995 North Mountain Street at 3 p.m. Stevenson and Green were both taken to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Detention Center, arrested on charges of robbery and street terrorism.

Stevenson, who was being charged with armed robbery, participation in a criminal street gang and robbery, has not yet been charged with murder, according to jail records.

He was due in San Bernardino Superior Court on Tuesday. Green, who faces the same charges, is also due in court on Tuesday.
