Stabbing Suspect Arrested

The Grover Beach Police arrested a stabbing suspect who allegedly assaulted a victim on Tuesday.

According to GBPD, they were dispatched around 6:55 p.m. to a reported stabbing that allegedly occurred in the transient camp located South of the Grover Beach Train Station in the 100 block of South Highway 1.

Upon officers’ arrival, they located a 28-year-old male victim who had been stabbed at least one time in the torso causing serious injuries. The victim was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male adult in his mid-twenties, about 5’7”-5’9”, weighing about 180 lbs, with a goatee, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, and black and white shorts. The suspect was last seen running eastbound on Grand Avenue.

Later, 26-year-old Andrew Lerma was arrested in the 400 block of North 12th Street in Grover Beach, charged in the stabbing assault.
